Joel Douglas joined Spectral Sciences, Inc. in 2024 and serves as a Senior Scientist. Joel is involved in multiple projects regarding high speed gas-surface interactions, constructing solid and fluid CFD grids, and thermal and material response. During graduate school, Joel used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to research many different topics. These included Mars Sample Return, Dragonfly mission on Titan, and sphere cones. He studied the ablation of these hypersonic vehicles to better understand how they would perform in flight.
