Alexander Barrett
Senior Scientist
M.S. (Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics) University of Minnesota, 2022
B.S. (Mechanical Engineering) University of Connecticut, 2017
Dr. Barrett joined Spectral Sciences, Inc. as a Senior Scientist in January 2025. His graduate research primarily focused on the development of a low-dissipation numerical flux scheme for simulating multiphase flows. This method targets accurate simulation and prediction of shock-induced breakup of liquid particulates in supersonic and hypersonic flows to couple with solid material solvers to predict vehicle surface erosion during flight through adverse weather conditions. At SSI he will continue the development of computational fluid dynamics methods to further improve the physical capabilities and accuracy of the computational solvers in application to complex engineering problems.
