Principal Scientist

Ph.D. (Nuclear Physics) Old Dominion University, 2009

M.S. (Physics) University of Texas at Arlington, 2001

B.S. (Physics) Middle East Technical University, 1998

Dr. Nevzat Guler joined Spectral Sciences, Inc. in March 2014 and currently serves as a principal scientist. His ongoing work focuses on developing high-fidelity signature tools for aerospace applications and modeling nonequilibrium gas–surface reactions, including hypersonic flows and ablation. Previously, he performed spectral analysis and exploitation of hyperspectral and multispectral image data in short-wave and long-wave regimes and contributed to the development of SSI’s atmospheric correction and remote target detection software. Prior to joining SSI, Dr. Guler played a key role in the development and operation of a short-pulse laser-generated neutron source and its applications at the Trident Laser Facility.  Additionally, he contributed to the development, commissioning, and analysis of neutron imaging diagnostics for inertial confinement fusion (ICF) experiments at the National Ignition Facility, as well as the development and analysis of electron-nucleon and nucleon-nucleon scattering experiments at Jefferson Lab and Brookhaven National Laboratory.
