Software: TRAILS - Tomographic Reconstruction of Active LADAR Systems

TRAILS provides highly accurate simulations for identification of UAVs or other aircraft using ground-based LADAR or passive IR imaging. TRAILS incorporates recent SSI-developed codes that simulate solid model light reflection and atmospheric propagation.

Using the SSI-developed SPIRITS code, TRAILS is able to simulate passive IR signatures from inputs such as hot exit nozzles and engine exhaust parameters.

For LADAR simulation, TRAILS takes as input a three-dimensional airframe model and trajectory, LADAR specifications, data collection parameters, and atmospheric conditions.

The output is a reconstructed 3D image of the aircraft, passive IR signatures, and target identification from a library of candidate models.
